In the event of a disruption, the Emergency Inter-Island Water Taxi operates in a "boomerang", starting and ending at the Orcas Island Ferry Terminal. Passengers can get on and off at any location along the route. The actual schedule will be determined based on the time the WSDOT Ferry disruption occurs. The Emergency Water Taxi Schedule will be posted here and service announcements will be made on Facebook and Instagram. Emergency Water Taxi service will commence within 2 hours of WSDOT ferry disruptions.

The Emergency Inter-Island Water Taxi is available for locals just trying to get home as well as visitors to each of our beautiful islands. Our landing locations are described below with meeting points where you check in and services available at each location.

Check in at the top of the dock immediately adjacent to the WSDOT Ferry Terminal Dock. Look for our sign next to our boat slip.
Parking: plenty of public parking in town, you might have to go a few streets over to get out of the 2-hour parking zones.

Is there a restroom on the boat?

Yes! All of our vessels are equipped with a restroom.

How long is the ferry ride?

Only about 20-30 Minutes between each island.

When should we arrive?

YOU MUST CHECK IN TO LOAD THE VESSEL 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO DEPARTURE!

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to departure to secure parking etc.

We cannot hold the boat for late arrivals.

How much luggage can I bring?

Like a small plane, each person is allocated one backpack. Anything larger requires a reservation.

Can I bring my Car?

No. We can only take people, pets, and gear. To bring a car you must wait for the Washington State Ferry.

Can I bring my Dog?

Yes! Pets must always be on a leash, and also require a reservation.

Can I bring my bike?

Yes! Within reason. Any recreational equipment also requires a reservation and early check in for loading.

Is this ferry appropriate for families with small children?

All ages are allowed! Infants require a reservation and a free infant ticket.

Can my child travel alone?

Yes, HOWEVER, unaccompanied minors MUST receive permission from a parent or guardian completing this permission form.

Will seasickness be an issue?

Guests typically do not experience seasickness on our tours. Our vessels are very stable and the shelter of the many islands creates a calm environment on most days. If a person is very prone to motion sickness we suggest taking a non-drowsy Dramamine or Bonine.
