Bunch of Bigg's and a trio of humpbacks

Anacortes Location

Today, we had a great day full of whales! We headed to Saturna Island, where we were found two humpback whales! It was BCY0324 "Big Mama" and her 2022 calf. The little calf was hanging fun throwing its tail around. As we were watching those two humpbacks, another humpback came out of nowhere, swimming the opposite direction. She surfaced once, fluked, and disappeared. We had one more surfacing of that single whale. It turned out to be BCX1057 "Divot!" We decided to press on to see what else we could find. We went through Johns Pass and found the Bigg's killer whales T75Bs and T65Bs swimming in Spieden Channel. They crossed from the San Juan shoreline over to the Spieden Island shoreline. As they cruised alongside the island, we headed down San Juan Channel where we found more Bigg's killer whales! It was the T123s swimming north along the San Juan Island shoreline. We had some great looks at them before we continued to head back toward homeport. But, not before we caught up with one more group of Bigg's killer whales! It was the T109Cs, T2B and the T60s (-T60D and T60E). They were along the Shaw Island shoreline, cruising north. We spent a couple of surfacing with them before we headed back to Skyline Marina.
