On May 17th we had a beautiful day on the south side of the Canadian Gulf Islands with the T065B's.
The Matriarch of this sub-pod of Bigg's Killer Whales is named "Chunk." She was born in 1993 and travels with her two offspring; T065B1, a male named "Birdsall," born in 2011 and "Nettle," an unsexed calf born in 2019.
On our way back to port we stopped right on the US/Canadian border for some bonus whales! Big Mama and her calf were having a lovely afternoon and her calf was playing in the current.
Big Mama's calf gets playful, lob tailing and rolling through the current
Overall just a wonderful adventure out there today! It's going to be an amazing summer!
