We got off the dock this morning and headed south through Burrows Bay. We cruised alongside Whidbey Island with flat calm seas and gorgeous skies. We made our way into Admiralty Inlet toward Hansville. It was there we found killer whales! It was the T65As and T77 and T77E. There were spread out in small groups as they trekked to the north. We had some great looks as they passed by. After some quality time with them, we had to turn toward homeport, since we had come a long way to hang out with our killer whale friends. We slowed down at a navigational marker to check out a lazy sea lion enjoying the sunshine. We also saw several harbor porpoise throughout our journey today.

We headed off in a completely different direction from the morning. We headed north through Rosario Strait. We saw several harbor porpoise enjoying the currents. We almost made it to Canada, we were just north of the Cherry Point Refineries in Ferndale when we found some killer whales! This group was the T36s (T36, T36B, T36B1, T36B2, and T36B3). The littlest whale was definitely being playful, splashing around and swimming separately from the rest of the family. The whales cruised the shoreline and they headed north. We spent some good time with them before heading off in search of other wildlife. We turned to the west toward Canada. As we approached Patos Island, we saw more killer whales! These whales were the T137s (T137, T137A, T137B, and T137D). They were trending to the southeast as it appeared they were on the search for food. They were zigging and zagging, a couple of times, they ended up right in front of Mount Baker. It was quite a sight! We had to head back toward home port. But, not before Captain Drew found a Steller sea lion hauled out on a navigational marker on the north side of Cypress Island. We continued through Bellingham Channel as we headed home. What a great day!
