It was a gorgeous day out there, and we were all surprised by the appearance of Minke whales feeding between San Juan Island and Lopez Island. A rare sighting for us, but happily welcome!
Minke whales are seasonal visitors here, but not much is known about where they head for the winter. We assume it's to Baja or somewhere equally warm and pleasant! We got some really good views today, and it was definitely a special sighting!
