Orcas of April

As we move into May we look ahead at what is going to be a promising season. In March and April we had record numbers of Bigg's Killer Whale sightings in the San Juan Islands, and those numbers continue to be on an upward trend. Bigg's (or Transients) are the mammal-eating eco-type of orca whale that frequent our islands.
