This Friday afternoon we found some Bigg's Transient orcas down off of Cattle Point Lighthouse. As the tide flows in and out of this narrow channel, currents churn and speed up to almost 10 knots! These conditions made good hunting for this pair of cousins. We even got to watch them play in the swirling water.

Next we made our way to Whale Rocks, where we found two dozen or more Stellars Sea Lions lounging about, and making lots of noise! It was pretty entertaining watching these young bucks battle it out.
Lastly, on our way back home, we got a chance to watch a group of three orcas do some hunting along the West shore of Shaw Island.
