The Eye of the Orca

Writer's picture: LibertyLiberty

We had an amazing encounter out there today, with a surprise "mugging" by a pod of orcas. A harbor seal hid under the boat, unbeknownst to us, and the orcas were about 400 yards away when they disappeared on a dive and popped up right at the rail! We got a bit of eye contact with one of the females, which is a rare and special occurrence. Then they hunted down and consumed the harbor seal, right next to us. Always amazing to see them in action, and rarely do we get to see that much detail. Let's hear it for the T065A's! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime encounter!
