More About Our Tours

The Salish Sea is the best place on earth for whale watching to see wild Orca Whales. We have two whale tours: our specialty orca watching tour, the Orca Only Tour, and our classic whale watch, the Orca & Whale Tour.

On both of these wildlife tours we can also see Bald Eagles, Harbor Seals, Steller's Sea Lions, a wide variety of sea birds, and much more.

Our Orca & Whale tour with guaranteed sightings ensures you will see a whale or an orca, or you can come again free!

If you are especially passionate for orcas and specifically want to see killer whales, our Orca Only Tour with guaranteed orcas, see an orca or come again free!

Chances of Seeing
Each Kind of Whale

Orcas can be seen in the San Juan's all year, and are the most frequently seen whales on all of our tours.

Humpback Whales and Gray Whales migrate through the Salish Sea on their journey between colder feeding areas in the north in summer and warmer breeding areas in the south in winter.

Minke Whales can be seen here year round.

No trip to Washington is complete without a whale watch and Outer Islands Excursions is a great choice. Capt Jim, and naturalists Delaney and Sophia were friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable hosts. We saw Orcas, a humpback, seals, sea lions, porpoises and eagles. The boat was a perfect size with both inside and outside viewing opportunities. Such a perfect way to experience the natural beauty of the San Juans.
